Winemaking Notes: The 2020 Blau (Blaüfrankisch) was harvested on October 5, 2020 from the Reuthers Vineyard in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. After careful sorting, the grapes were fermented in macro bins as whole berries. After 22 days on the skins being only gently punched down, the free run wine was pumped off and the skins were pressed to be blended into the 2020 PTG. After 7 months of aging in neutral barriques, the wine was transferred into stainless steel for natural clarification in May of 2021. The 2020 Blau was bottled on July 1, 2021 without fining or filtration.
