It's actually an interesting combination of words. From the Abokichi website it's explained as, 'Abokichi means 'Fortunate Avocado,' a coinage from 'abogado', a South American fruit which has found a place in cuisines all over the world, and 'kichi' which means fortunate in Japanese, to express the blessing of the diversity of different cultures in the world.

Okazu is an extremely versatile (and yummy!) product and goes well with almost anything. It's a wonderful addition to rice dishes, makes a great marinade or salad dressing ingredient and has even made appearances as a burger topping. We love it on pitas and if you like it hot we recommend the the spicy variety.
